How often should you groom your dog? A schedule by breed

How often should your dog see a groomer? Short answer: it depends on the coat, not the breed — though breed usually defines it.
Continuously growing coat (Poodle, Maltese, Shih Tzu, Yorkie): a haircut every 4–8 weeks. The hair grows like ours and quickly mats without regular trimming.
Double coat (Spitz, Samoyed, shepherds, Husky): no clipping! Instead, professional undercoat removal every 8–12 weeks, especially during spring and autumn shedding. Shaving a double-coated dog damages the coat and thermoregulation.
Wiry coat (Schnauzer, terriers): hand-stripping every 8–12 weeks preserves texture and colour.
Short coat (Labrador, Beagle): a bath and de-shedding every 8–12 weeks is plenty.
Between visits, home brushing is key — 2–3 times a week for growing coats. Not sure what coat your mixed-breed has? Bring them in — at Kudłate Cuda (Radymno, Podkarpacie) we'll advise a care plan, no strings attached.
